Rosy Cancela has been a successful Realtor for more than 20 years. She is a true expert in Real Estate and has the amazing ability to connect the right property to the right investor. Her skill in understanding people has lead to her success.
Rosy has also been highly involved in the community, especially with the local Jackson Memorial Hospital. After taking a tour of the trauma center there in 1992, she took on the role of board member for the Jackson Memorial Foundation. In addition to this, she was successful in the creation of several innovative programs that have benefited many lives throughout the community. Some of these include the co-founding of the Guardian Angels as well as helping launch the International Kids Fund which are two major fund-raising organizations designed to help kids in the community. In 1999 she was the first woman to serve as chairperson of the Jackson Memorial Foundation and still continues to serve as an active member of the Board.
Rosy was also a member of the Public Health Trust for over ten years and during that time she developed and hosted a TV show, Eye On Health. She has served on multiple committees including the CBO committee which she chaired for four years as well as chairing the Facilities committee. While serving as the Facilities chairperson, her committee oversaw the $102 million renovation and expansion of Jackson South which was completed on time and within budget. Rosy continues to serve as a strong advocate for Jackson Memorial Hospital.
